Why did he take a pen

Twenty years later, now.

なぜ彼はペンを執って
ノートに言葉を走らせたのか
20年後、今。
それは分からない衝動。
確かに言えるのは
今日もまた言葉を重ねてること

あの頃の彼に
今の僕はどう見えるだろう？
何か間違って 街中ですれ違ったら
彼は僕に 声をかけてくれるかな？

彼は過去を描き、嘆いてた
僕は今を描き、続けてく
まだ続く、まだ続く
僕がいなくなっても言葉は
まだ続く、まだ続く

今思えば
なぜ彼はペンを執って
ノートに言葉を走らせたのか

あの彼からはどう見えるだろう？
何か間違って 街中ですれ違ったら
僕は彼に 「久しぶり」と手を挙げるよ

やがて明日を描き、笑われても
まだ続く、まだ続く
仮にいなくなっても言葉は
まだ続く、まだ続く

長く長く 思い返すもの
一秒で忘れること
どっちもあるから楽しくて
言葉は無限、
僕は歌い続けよう。
